Natasha Chuk

Media Theorist, Writer, Lecturer, and Curator

Natasha Chuk is a New York-based media theorist, writer, lecturer, and independent curator whose research explores the intersections of technology, perception, identity, and contemporary visual culture. Her work examines the histories and philosophies of creative technologies and their impact on aesthetics, embodiment, and cultural imagination.

Chuk is the author of Photo Obscura: The Photographic in Post-Photography (2025) and Vanishing Points: Articulations of Death, Fragmentation, and the Unexperienced Experience of Created Objects (2015). Her writing has appeared in numerous publications, artist catalogues, and academic volumes. Alongside her scholarly work, she teaches courses in photography, film, media theory, new media art, and game studies at the School of Visual Arts and Parsons School of Design. Through her research, writing, and curatorial practice, she contributes to critical conversations around contemporary media and emerging forms of artistic expression.
