Negin Mahzoun

Artist and Co-Founder

Negin Mahzoun is a visual artist working across textiles, photography, and installation. Her practice explores the intersections of memory, identity, gender, and lived experience through material processes of stitching, layering, and transformation. Drawing on personal archives, cultural histories, and the body as a site of memory, she investigates how experiences are carried, concealed, and transmitted over time. In her work, textiles function not only as material but also as metaphor—simultaneously revealing and obscuring the complex narratives that shape individual and collective identities. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in New York, Paris, London, Mexico City, Tehran, and Rome.

Mahzoun co-founded Rybon Art Center and was a founding member of Kooshk Artist Residency. She is also the founder of The Bisheh Project, a correspondence-based publishing initiative exploring dialogue, reflection, and exchange through letters. Through Badiyeh Arts, she continues to cultivate opportunities for cultural exchange and collaboration across artistic communities.
