Tooraj Khamenehzadeh
Artist and Co-Founder
Tooraj Khamenehzadeh is a New York–based visual artist working across photography, video, installation, and interdisciplinary projects. Originally trained in theater before turning to photography and moving image, his work combines staged, documentary, and experimental approaches to explore memory, displacement, transformation, and the human condition. Navigating life between cultures and histories, he creates image-based works that reflect on personal and collective narratives, often blurring the boundaries between reality, performance, and fiction. His work has been presented in exhibitions, festivals, and biennials across Asia, Europe, Africa, and North America.
Khamenehzadeh co-founded Rybon Art Center and was a founding member of Kooshk Artist Residency. He later served on the Board of Directors of Res Artis, the worldwide network of artist residencies. Through Badiyeh Arts, he develops projects that foster cultural exchange and strengthen connections between artistic communities across borders.
