Badiyeh Arts Exchange Program 04

The Badiyeh Arts × Temporary Art Platform (TAP) Exchange is a reciprocal professional exchange between Beirut and New York, developed around curatorial practice, research, and socially engaged approaches to contemporary art. Created in partnership with TAP, the program brings the two cultural ecosystems into dialogue while exploring how cultural practitioners work within—and respond to—different social, political, and cultural contexts.

From March 5–15, 2027, Badiyeh Arts will host Amanda Abi Khalil—curator, researcher, and founder and director of TAP—for a ten-day residency in New York. Her program will be shaped around her ongoing interests in cultural policy, public space, care, exile, and the role of contemporary art in contexts of crisis and transformation.

As the reciprocal component of the exchange, TAP will host a New York-based participant nominated by Badiyeh Arts for a ten-day residency in Beirut. The timing of the Beirut residency will be determined in response to the evolving circumstances in Lebanon.

Through conversations and encounters with curators, researchers, artists, universities, cultural organizations, and initiatives working across art and public life, the two residencies will create opportunities to share experiences, methodologies, and knowledge developed within distinctly different cultural environments. By connecting the professional networks and cultural ecosystems surrounding Badiyeh Arts and TAP, the exchange seeks to deepen relationships between Beirut and New York and create possibilities for future research and collaboration beyond the program itself.
