Badiyeh Arts Exchange Program 03
The Badiyeh Arts × Vasl Artists' Association Exchange is a reciprocal professional exchange between New York and Karachi, developed to strengthen connections between two vibrant contemporary art ecosystems. Through reciprocal exchange visits, the program brings together curators, arts leaders, and other cultural practitioners to build long-term professional relationships, exchange knowledge, and foster future international collaborations.
The exchange consists of two reciprocal ten-day programs. From 1–10 November 2026, Badiyeh Arts will host Adeela Suleman—artist, educator, and Director of Vasl Artists' Association—in New York. In return, Vasl will host a participant nominated by Badiyeh Arts in Karachi in February 2027, with the participant to be announced.
Rather than following a fixed residency model, each exchange is shaped around the participant's professional interests and research. Through meetings with curators, arts leaders, museums, residency organizations, galleries, universities, and other cultural institutions, participants are introduced to the host city's contemporary art ecosystem while sharing perspectives from their own professional contexts. The program also creates opportunities for participants to engage directly with one another's professional networks, encouraging the exchange of ideas, experiences, and knowledge across different cultural contexts. By connecting cultural ecosystems in New York and Karachi, the exchange seeks to cultivate meaningful dialogue, strengthen institutional relationships, and lay the foundation for future collaborations that extend well beyond the exchange itself.
